Wanhua views internships as a way to expose its company to students and young professionals with diverse backgrounds while simultaneously identifying talented individuals to join their team. As a result, internships offer a potential pathway to full-time employment with Wanhua Chemical.
Internship Program
Summer interns are placed in the department that best matches their capabilities and are matched with a personal mentor. The mentor provides a soft landing familiarizing the intern with the company and any background knowledge the position requires.
During their time at Wanhua, interns:
- engage in daily business operations alongside their mentor
- participate in team analysis projects, and
- rotate to different departments on a regular basis to observe company-wide operations
Additionally, interns attend intercultural training activities, experience special Chinese cultural classes, and have the opportunity to participate in Mandarin Chinese lessons.
Internships last three (3) months and typically begin in May. Wanhua covers the cost of the necessary visa and airfare to China. Wanhua also provides interns with:
- dorm-style accommodations
- small monthly stipend
- provide a period of paid leave for tourism
Wanhua strongly encourages its international interns to experience other parts of the country and culture while in China.
Yantai, China
Most of the available intern positions are located near Wanhua's headquarters in Yantai, China.
A city of almost 7 million people, the city boasts a thriving economy. Its coastal location combined with its many natural wonders and cultural heritage sites also make Yantai a popular tourist destination.
